Do you even remember to reap at all? Or do you just sow, then walk away before or after the harvest is ripe?

This post is for anyone struggling to reconcile their faith with the rules of business. It is for sincere, hardworking people who avoid negotiating, hoping clients will magically recognize their value and pay them what they are worth voluntarily.

Many of us, myself included, love to sow without reaping. We grew up with a mindset deeply rooted in us from childhood: to do something good without expecting a return.

This is a beautiful spiritual principle, but the problem starts when we take that exact mindset and apply it to business.

We constantly want to do good for people, but we end up giving from a place of lack rather than abundance. And to add salt to the wound, some people will take that favor for granted, expecting you to keep doing it without pay.

You do the work, but you don’t even ask for pay; rather, you expect them to give you what you deserve. You become angry when they don’t meet your expectations, so you walk away to sow in another place—what a mindset.

The habit of not reaping where I sow made me learn over 20 different high-paying skills, yet I wasn’t known for any of them. I failed to identify as just one thing, constantly afraid that if I settled, I might miss out on an opportunity in another field.

Do you ever wonder why someone who learned a skill or craft after you already got their first client and is making money, while you aren’t? It’s because that one skill is the only thing they know. They put it to work and demanded payment, while you are still deciding which field to settle in.

You also need to start reaping where you’ve sown.

The Rule of Goodwill vs. The Law of Business

Not all conventional wisdom applies to every situation.

We have to learn to differentiate between our skills and our hobbies, between business and helping out. Monetize your skill, not your hobby. And when it comes to business, mean business.

Whatever someone requests of you that has monetary value to them or saves them time, that is business. You must charge for it. But if they request something that holds no monetary value and is purely for the sake of others, that is helping out. That is where the Rule of Goodwill applies.

Nobody leaves what works. But if you are solving a valuable problem and you don’t charge for it, you are wasting your time, your resources, and your harvest.

There are two kinds of people in business: those with skills (who offer time) and those with money (who buy time). Some want to lead, and others want to be led.. But there is one thing that gives everyone leverage to negotiate, regardless of the power they wield: Time, which is exchanged for money.

Sometimes we make the mistake of not negotiating simply because we don’t value our own time. We expect clients to read our minds and pay us what we are worth without us having to ask. Some even price our time cheaply.

Whatever you invest your time in, you are sowing. But you can’t just expect the “field” (the market or the client) to magically hand you what you deserve. If you don’t ask, the field will swallow your seed whole or even hand you just 10% of what you sowed.

In business, it’s not just about how good your seed (value) is; it’s about having a binding agreement with the field (client).

You cannot bring the act of goodwill into a business negotiation. The law of business is different from spiritual laws, and those who know the law and apply it are the ones who excel.

Talent vs. Skill

Asking for money is not evil. You can’t have what you don’t love and care about.

The love of money is the root of all evil, because if money is the only thing you think about, then money is what you serve. But money itself is nothing but an exchange of value and an exchange of your time. You have to value your time so much that people are forced to value it too.

It took me years to understand this difference, and as a result, I spent too long trying to learn every skill that could probably bring me money “fast.”

Here is the truth: your talent is different from your skill. Your talent might be writing. But to make money with that talent, you have to learn a skill valuable to the marketplace like writing a technical case study, an ad copy, or a sales letter.

If you offer your talent as a business without refining it, or without learning business skills like negotiation and delivery, you will end up doing endless free favors and eventually resent your own talent.

You don’t have to monetize your talents; keep them as hobbies if you wish. But the moment you convert them into a skill for the marketplace, you must learn the laws of business, sales, and negotiation. And if you still can’t do it yourself, hire someone who can.

Serve God with your talent, but make money with your skills. Give unto Caesar what belongs to Caesar, and to God what belongs to God.

Thanks for reading! Hannah offered her only unborn child to the Lord. Solomon offered thousands of sacrifices without a second thought. The poor widow offered her last coins. Mary bought an alabaster box of oil worth a year’s salary to wash Jesus’ feet when He brought her brother Lazarus back. The disciples gave up everything to follow Him.

What all these have in common is the heart behind the gift. That is what Christ wants. They didn’t give because they wanted a quick return, yet God did exceedingly and abundantly above their expectations.

Then, some people give God what costs them little to nothing, simply because they want something in return. They have a transactional mindset, expecting God to respond within 24 to 72 hours.

Just because God sent Elijah to the widow of Zarephath and she gave her last meal doesn’t mean you should give with a manipulative mindset. That widow didn’t expect anything in return.

God’s miracle of multiplication is always centered around the advancement of His kingdom. Asking the kingdom to invest in you without you genuinely investing in the kingdom is selfishness.

Lastly, we have those who give lip service. They often have the loudest voices in the church, yet they do the least giving.

There are other ways to get God’s attention, but giving has been the most guaranteed way. More than anything you have to give financially, God wants you. He wants your heart and your service.

Give yourself as a living sacrifice to God, holy and acceptable (Romans 12:1).

Time is one of the most valuable possessions we have on earth. Why not give Him the first hour of it? You can even dedicate a tenth of your daily time strictly to Him.

Don’t wait until God has to get your attention through problems and setbacks. Start getting God’s attention today by offering your heart, your mind, your body, your soul, your talent, and the first of everything to God. Remove anything that creates distance between you and God.

”Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you.” (James 4:8)

Shalom

What Are You Feeding?

Text: Romans the laws. The law was given as a light, but it ended up condemning him to death. The endless do’s and don’ts were just too much for him, exactly as they are for us.

The Bible says all men have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). There is no sin without the law (Romans 4:15). And there is no greater sin or small sin—all there is, is ‘sin’ (James 2:10). Even if you look at a woman with lustful eyes, you have already sinned (Matthew 5:28).

Since no one is perfect and we all fall short, a thought once crossed my mind: If I have sinned once and I’m already a sinner, why not do it one more time and just ask for forgiveness for everything altogether?

But here is what I understood: Yes, God forgives all sins, but we will still face the consequences of our actions (Galatians 6:7). For every action, there’s an opposite reaction. And for every law given, there’s a reason.

Every sin against oneself (like lust) is a forgivable sin, but it will mess up your heart. Because it comforts the soul in the moment, despite knowing it’s bad, you still want to do it again.

God wants to walk with you and work through you, but He can’t do so when you are unholy. Sin makes a man distant from God, even after God forgives us.

So, how do you stop doing what you don’t want to do, and start doing what you truly want to do? Paul gave the key to that in Romans 13:14. He said you don’t have to keep fighting yourself; instead, put on Christ. You have to feed your spirit and starve your soul.

One way to starve the soul is by not feeding your addiction. You do that through what you consume with your eyes and ears. But rather than just starving the soul, you must replace it by feeding the spirit. Switch secular songs to hymns, be conscious of what you watch, and in fact, “remove your right eye” by not watching at all (Matthew 5:29).

The world is moving fast, and as we are moving with it, let’s watch out for vices that make our hearts distance from God. Our focus is not to observe all laws; no one can. Our focus is to understand the true assignment of sin—which is to take us away from the presence of God—and to remember that all our actions have consequences, regardless of grace.

Shalom

When Vision Lacks Purpose

Text: Luke who have lost their way.

I often imagine what gave the younger brother the guts to ask for his inheritance while his father was still alive. He must have had a grand investment in mind, a promised lifestyle, or a belief he could make it bigger than his father. Perhaps he thought his father was “old school” and the world had modernized.

Whatever it was, one thing is certain: this desire didn’t happen overnight. As scripture reminds us, God doesn’t tempt us with evil; we are drawn away by our own desires, which eventually give birth to sin and, ultimately, death.

After receiving his share, he liquidated everything and traveled far away. But with vision and no purpose, the illusion of wealth overwhelmed him. He spent recklessly—buying what he needed and what he didn’t—living under the delusion that he could never go broke. He thought he had finally “arrived.”

To add salt to his injury, a severe famine struck the land, multiplying his expenses. What ought to have lasted him for years was reduced to a few months. He likely tried to start businesses to salvage his diminishing wealth but failed so miserably that he hit rock bottom. He was forced to work for a stranger to survive before finally deciding to swallow his pride and return to his father.

Some of us have had to learn this the hard way. Life is a strict teacher, repeating lessons until we finally understand. But the beautiful truth of this parable isn’t just the son’s downfall—it is the Father’s open arms. The true solution to losing our way isn’t trying to fix the mess ourselves; it is finding the humility to return to our Source.

The world moves faster every day, coating new vices as “norms,” so we must be wary. Let him who thinks he stands take heed, lest he fall.

Have you lost your way? If you feel stagnated, overwhelmed, or trapped in a “famine”, remember that the Father is waiting. You don’t have to stay there. I pray that the right hand of the Lord lifts you today and gives you the courage to trace your steps back home.

Shalom.

Joy vs. You can have happiness without joy; you can have joy without happiness; above all, you can have joy and be happy.

Money can buy happiness, but money cannot buy joy. Joy is within; happiness is without. Joy is an untouchable thing that comes from inside you, a deep feeling your heart truly longs for.

The mind and brain are searching for something they don’t even have a name for—a profound sense of peace, the feeling of “if only I just have this, I won’t need anything else.”

Happiness, on the other hand, comes from touchable things you possess. We often think buying the newest phone, having a certain amount of money, or getting that big promotion will finally bring us that ultimate sense of arrival.

We will be happy with these things, but our joy will not be full. Because the moment we get what we thought would satisfy us forever, we find ourselves wanting more. Happiness relies on external things, but true joy is cultivated within ourselves.

Think deeply, what are you longing to have? Is it joy, or happiness?

No one can teach you how to be happy, but you can find happiness by being content with what you have. Appreciate what you already have and give thanks. Whatever you have today, you once prayed for, and you received it while others still wish for it.

Accept the fact that to some, one talent was given; to some five, and to some ten. Life is not just about wanting more; it is about taking the talents you were given and multiplying them by putting them to work.

To have joy, name what you already have. Count your blessings. Don’t sin against yourself. Love yourself, know yourself, and live consciously. Appreciate the simple miracle of waking up. Appreciate the mind that allows you to think, and the hands that allow you to build.

Be productive. Produce something that benefits others—something you can complete in a few hours and repeat daily. Write about something helpful that you have been keeping to yourself. Knit a handkerchief and gift it. Buy a flowerpot and nurture it. Create a video tutorial for just one person and publish it. Own something you can call yours.

You can have joy by genuinely doing what you love without monetizing it. Happiness might come from sharing these things with others, but true joy is found simply in being faithful to your gifts.

Happiness comes with a price, but true joy is priceless. It is found within ourselves, and no one can take it from you.

Shalom Shalom.

Thanks for reading Rebuild With Intention! Today is Day 140 since I started rebuilding with intention—forsaking the default ways the world wants me to live and walking in the new ways I have always wanted to live by. But the journey started getting rough when I hit Day 100.

I had an intentional setback due to strong external factors, and ever since, I have lost my reason for rebuilding. But one thing was certain: I didn’t lose to the external overnight; it all started from within.

An old man once advised his son to always create his tomorrow today, for the reason that when you wake up in the morning and you think about what you will do that day, you’ve already failed the day.

Thinking is from within; doing is without. A universal truth is that before we do something, we have already done it in our minds over a thousand times. We’ve imagined the outcomes, the scenarios, the reasons, the excuses, the complications, and the aftermath. When we “think” thoughtfully, we cancel out all the excuses with a fierce battle of the mind, and we act based on what we think.

But the fact that we started thinking that thought means we already lost by 50%. There is one way to guarantee we win the battle 100%, and that is not thinking at all.

Overthinking the thought

I’m not saying you should become a zombie that doesn’t think at all. I’m saying you should select carefully what to think, how to think, when to think, and why you think.

Some thinking is meant to be done by others, not you. If you do the “thinking” for them, you will only cause yourself to worry, and your conclusion will always be biased. Ask the person, and let them do the thinking themselves. Some thinking is just unnecessary: dwelling on the past or obsessing over the future. What you do today will shape the outcome of tomorrow.

If you are to think at all, there is a universal law about how we should use our thinking faculty: “Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable and anything excellent or praiseworthy.”

If you are thinking anything outside these, it is bad—and don’t forget, bad is not the opposite of good; it’s just the absence of it. Don’t avoid thinking about these things, and don’t outsource it to humans or AI, because they enrich the soul and feed our spirit. If we become what we think, and you think of these things, then you become pure, noble, honest, and excellent.

Escaping Reality or Escapism

Now, how does this apply to my mornings? All these things I’ve said come from recognizing my own escapism. For someone like me who always wants to escape from my own reality into something illusory—social media, games, movies, other people’s lives—thinking about having what they have without appreciating what I have is the biggest deprivation I can ever deny myself.

We are all awarded a life (mind, spirit, body) and we all have equal time to design what we want to become. While others are using theirs, I’m busy using mine to compare theirs, watching theirs, while neglecting mine.

If you’ve ever felt you are missing something, trying to break free from yourself and your addictions, that feeling always leads to one thing: you want to live. And if you truly want to live, you have to stop escaping into your thoughts, face your reality, and find yourself.

We learn by doing

On the other side of thinking, we have doing. If we become what we think, we do accordingly without forcing it. We learn by doing.

No one who reaches the end of the race (succeeded) knew they would. You won’t know if there will really be a road at the end of the tunnel until you take the path. If there’s a road, fine, and if there isn’t, you can become a guide for others not to take the path.

Don’t let people who haven’t taken your path tell you what to do. Don’t let people who are afraid to take your path discourage you. Don’t let the fear of the unknown deceive you. There’s only one way to find out: by doing it.

If you think there’s harm in doing, there’s an even bigger harm if you don’t. Better to do and learn than to not do and regret.

At the end of the day, the heart of a man is selfish by default—not because it wants to be, but because his environment has made it so. But when you become selfless, you live not for yourself but for others. You have something that the world is looking for.

Think less, do more.

(Now I’m starting to think - could there be a difference between ‘thinking’ and ‘planning’?)

Disclaimer: These are just random thoughts I hope could make sense together, and they may not be true for everyone - if they don’t apply to you, it only means you are already a superior being outta the cage of the mind.

<p class="button-wrapper" lives. Today, it has been completely rebranded by modern society as progress, freedom, and harmless entertainment.

When you look at it through the lens of systems and data, it is easy to see exactly how this “upgrade” happened. Here is how modern lust was engineered into a societal norm.

1. The Rebranding of Consumption

Society has relabeled lust as “empowerment” and “hustle.” Platforms and influencer culture have turned the objectification of the human body into a massive corporate industry.

Society tells you it is just self-expression, but the underlying mechanism hasn’t changed one bit. It is still a transactional system where one person sells an artificial fantasy, and millions of others consume it to numb their own voids.

2. Algorithmic Weaponization

If you know how data models work, you know the truth: the human reproductive drive is the ultimate engagement metric — weaponized to work against you by the algorithm.

You no longer have to go searching for it. The algorithm monitors your micro-hesitations (the fraction of a second you pause on a video) and weaponizes that data. It feeds a constant stream of “soft” lust directly into your feed, using your primal biology to keep your eyes on the screen so they can sell ad inventory.

3. The Death of Friction

Modern lust has engineered all the friction out of human connection. To be intimate with a real partner requires vulnerability, financial stability, communication, and the very real risk of rejection.

Modern society offers a digital alternative that delivers visual and chemical rewards instantly, with zero risk, right from your phone. It artificially inflates your dopamine baseline, making the slow, beautiful reality of a real relationship feel “boring” by comparison.

4. The Distraction Economy

This is the norm now because it is highly profitable. A generation of men who are constantly draining their ambition, energy, and focus into digital screens is incredibly easy to control, market to, and exploit.

When you are numbed out by constant artificial stimulation, you don’t have the anger or the bandwidth left to fight back against the reality of a broken system.

The Bottom Line

Modern escapism isn’t just a moral failing anymore. It is a highly optimized, multi-billion-dollar system designed to steal your time and kill your drive.

You don’t need to arbitrarily “quit social media,” and trying to brute-force your willpower will only make you defensive — you just need to recognize the transaction taking place.

Every day, you are either the architect of your future or a data point being farmed for ad revenue. There is no middle ground.

The next time the exhaustion hits, and you feel the urge to numb out, don’t fight it. Just pause and ask yourself: Am I actually resting, or am I letting a script harvest my ambition?

Once you see the system for what it actually is, you won’t need strict rules to make you close the app. You will just choose to walk away.

Thanks for reading Rebuild With Intention! I have made numerous commitments in past years — every last month of the year, every week leading up to my birthday — that I needed to do it right this time.

I would repeat long lists of goals to achieve and bad habits to stop (for almost 10 years), but they usually lasted just a few weeks before I slipped back into the rabbit hole I was crawling out of.

But this time around, it was different. I made that decision, and I stand by it.

Celebrating 100 days of rebuilding with intention is really worth celebrating, just that my health condition couldn’t allow me to do that fully. The last 100 days weren’t just about quitting addictions and bad habits, but actually living every single day with a purpose in mind, even though the last few weeks have not been so purposeful.

I can’t say this was as easy as I made it seem or wished it to be. The last 100 days feel just like yesterday, like a week ago, because I follow almost the exact routine. It is only lately, as I start adding more and more, that I’m learning how to make things sit and be in order.

We live in a world designed to keep us distracted. It is a world full of noise, chaos, lack, and abundance, where people teach you how to live your life but only care about themselves. A world where everyone wants to be loved, but no one gives it freely unless they have something to gain from it.

Our free will is surrendered to algorithms, making everything so easy for us that we don’t even have to use our brains or think for ourselves. It is a world that hands us abundant dopamine, a feeling you get from completion when you aren’t completing anything, and it is engineered to take away the only valuable thing we have in life: time.

To be you in a world that makes you work like an elephant but pays you little, that turns you into a zombie, that rewards dishonesty and normalizes destructive habits, you have to rebuild with intention.

For me, waking up without regret and going to sleep peacefully every single day, without living on autopilot or paying attention to the noise and chaos happening around me — that is rebuilding with intention.

Thanks for reading! That was me. Burned out from the passive, invisible labor of being consumed by the very thing I thought I was controlling.

I wanted subscribers. I’ll say it plainly. I wanted to see my audience grow, get that little notification that tells you someone thought what you made was worth a second of their day. And I told myself that desire was ambition, not knowing it was just a fantasy dressed in productivity language.

What I’ve been sitting with this week is a harder question than “how do I grow online.” It’s this: do I actually understand the system I’m trying to navigate? And more honestly, do I understand what it has already done to the way I think?

Social media divides every user into one of two roles — Consumer (SMC) or Producer (SMP). Consumers get rewired toward instant gratification. Producers gain leverage but stay algorithmically dependent. Intentional use starts with one honest question: which one are you right now?

Welcome to the rebuild. That analogy is wrong. These platforms are casinos with no clocks on the walls.

Their engineering teams have spent billions solving a single problem: keep you on the platform as long as possible. This is not because they hate you, but because your attention is what they sell. Your scroll is the revenue event.

The psychology behind this is called variable reward scheduling. This is the same principle that makes slot machines effective.

When a reward is unpredictable, the seeking behavior intensifies. A rat that gets food every time it presses a lever stops when it’s full. The SMC is someone whose habits and thinking patterns have been quietly reshaped by how the platform is designed to work — and most of the time, they didn’t notice it happening. The brain adapts to whatever it’s fed, whether that environment is serving you or not.

How the SMC pattern shows up:

They stop thinking before they need to. Autocomplete, suggested searches, and curated feeds remove the discomfort of not knowing. That discomfort is where actual thinking happens. Take it away long enough and the muscle weakens.

They want the result without the wait. This is not out of laziness but out of conditioning. When everything appears in seconds, tolerance for delay shrinks. And since real life makes you wait, the SMC starts struggling with that gap.

Their attention window gets shorter. The brain learns: if a post doesn’t pay off in three seconds, the next one will. Open a book after six months of heavy scrolling, and you’ll feel the pull to move on before the page is done.

They get the feeling of finishing without finishing anything. Watching someone else achieve something registers a version of the same reward feeling as if you did it yourself. You feel inspired, but nothing in your life actually moves.

The most dangerous place to live is in a life built entirely from other people’s highlights. documentation. They are the architects of the experience the SMC inhabits. That comes with real power, and its own set of traps.

The SMP’s particular traps:

Their mood is tied to their metrics. They’ve handed their emotional state to a deliberately unpredictable system. Low views on solid work doesn’t always mean the content production was weak. Sometimes, it means the algorithm hasn’t picked it up yet. The feeling of failure lands the same way either way.

Some are still in the wound they’re posting about. The most viral content often comes from real pain. When a creator hasn’t fully worked through what they’re sharing, millions end up building their worldview on ideas formed in crisis and never revisited.

The math forces volume, which can hollow out your voice. Out of every 50 pieces of content, maybe 2 will go viral. The only rational response is to keep producing, but nonstop production without reflection is how a creator starts making content for the algorithm rather than for a real person.

They are always one post away from being attacked. The ones who last are those who have separated who they are from what they produce. Almost nobody teaches that separation.

Both roles reverse constantly and without intention. An SMC who starts creating doesn’t stop consuming. And, an SMP checking metrics after posting is back in consumer mode, waiting for the platform to tell them how to feel.

The distinction isn’t the activity but the posture, and the platform profits from both.

<a class="image-link image2 is-viewable-img" target="_blank" I am slowly outgrowing the systems that got me here.

When you are navigating difficulties, it is dangerous to assume you are the first to face them. Relying solely on what you already know is a fallacy. Because you will be carving a path alongside one that has already been carved by powerful, successful men.

This made me search for autobiographies of people who rebuilt their lives from absolute zero—with no money or inheritance. I included that clause because many who claim to have built from "rock bottom" actually had a safety net—family, friends, or a favorable environment—something to build on. I have none of those.

Benjamin Franklin was the closest historical figure to the position I am in today. I drilled down into how he navigated this touchpoint of his life, and it came down to these 13 virtues:

1. Temperance: Eat not to dullness; drink not to elevation. This is the most important virtue, because controlling your physical impulses is the prerequisite for all other disciplines.

2. Silence: Speak only what and when it will benefit others or yourself. Always practice being the last to speak.

Thanks for reading Rebuild With Intention! Order: Let all your things have their places; let each part of your business have its time. Wherever you are, be there.

4. Resolution: Resolve to perform what you ought; perform without fail what you resolve. Do what you say you are going to do, and once you commit, execute without excuses.

5. Frugality: Be frugal. Make no expense but to do good to others or yourself.

6. Industry: Lose no time; be always employed in something useful; cut off all unnecessary actions.

7. Sincerity: Use no hurtful deceit; think innocently and justly. Be impeccable with your words.

8. Justice: Wrong none by doing injuries, or omitting the benefits that are your duty.

9. Moderation: Avoid extremes; forbear resenting injuries so much as you think they deserve. Focus only on what you can control.

10. Rarely use venery but for health or offspring, never to the injury of your own or another's peace or reputation.

13. Humility: Imitate Jesus and Socrates. Be a student.

What makes this system work is that Benjamin Franklin logged only his failures. By default, he fixated on ensuring these virtues were not violated. It beats traditional habit trackers because it prevents us from counting streaks and instead anticipates failure.

To implement this perfectly immediately, I built a simple Google Spreadsheet. You can carry on with your daily work, care for your earthly responsibilities, and keep your life looking perfectly ordered from the outside—but underneath, the fire of your devotion is slowly fading.

Author’s Note: This post is a raw, highly personal reflection pulled directly from my private journal following a profound spiritual experience. I am sharing it because building an intentional life isn’t just about optimizing routines or building external systems—it is about doing the gritty, inward work required to align your soul. If you are currently on your own journey of rebuilding, I hope this reflection serves as a quiet reminder to guard your foundation.

I could count on one hand the number of times I had gathered with my church community this year. Four times. Twice in January, once in March, and once in May.

It is dangerously easy to mask a wandering soul with everyday busyness. We convince ourselves that as long as we aren’t doing harm, we are doing well. But the Spirit of God has a way of arresting our attention when we stray too far into the wilderness of complacency.

Recently, the Lord gave me a profoundly vivid dream—a wake-up call that exposed my lack of readiness. It forced me to search my own heart and reminded me to protect my soul, the ultimate sanctuary.

My Vision of Eden

In my sleep, I was brought to a place that felt like the dawn of a new creation. It was breathtaking—a majestic landscape nestled securely between towering mountains.

The homes were beautifully crafted duplexes, standing like permanent places of refuge. They were surrounded by flora that didn’t look like earthly trees; they felt like ancient trees planted by a celestial river. I stood on high ground, taking in the valley in a single glance.

Behind the homes, pure water carved deep paths through the rocks, and people gathered by the streams. They weren’t holding buckets or vessels to fetch water; the water itself seemed to be the very source of their life and peace.

“Then the angel showed me a river with the water of life, clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb. It flowed down the center of the main street. On each side of the river grew a tree of life...” — Revelation 22:1-2 (NLT)

My guide—a presence who remained faceless but emanated absolute authority and peace—stood beside me, explaining the mechanics of this place. He showed me how this realm protected its people regardless of the seasons. It was a place of ultimate sanctuary.

The surrounding environment wasn’t just physically beautiful; it was thick with the presence of God. The clouds felt close, and the air was crisp. In the distance, I saw structures built like open-roofed temples.

Even from afar, I could hear the pure, unfiltered resonance of their worship. I watched as the scent of their offerings drifted directly up into heaven—rising purely and visibly, like a sweet, rich aroma from an open vessel.

As more people were arriving, the man standing beside me briefly said not to fear if we saw unfamiliar inhabitants who were not in human form over the coming days. Then he told us to be ready to witness something beautiful: the glory of God.

He began to chant a name. “...El... hum..hum..hum... E. li...”

The melody, the tone, and the emphasis were captivating. Even though the tongue was foreign and beyond my earthly interpretation, my spirit understood it completely. As he called out to God, the heavens responded. The sky opened, the earth parted, and a massive, powerful wave of energy surged from Heaven to Earth, accompanied by lightning. It was, in fact, the undeniable presence of the Lord.

He didn’t stop. A second wave emerged, rising directly from the ocean in a great, swirling sphere of water, surging back toward Heaven. I found myself silently following his words, grasping the melody, joining my spirit with his voice. The moment I did, his voice amplified, echoing like a massive speaker across the valley. Immediately, a third wave—ten times stronger than the second—swept through the realm, following the path of the water toward the north.

“The voice of the Lord echoes above the sea. The God of glory thunders. The Lord thunders over the mighty sea. The voice of the Lord is powerful; the voice of the Lord is majestic.” — Psalm 29:3-4 (NLT)

Following the third wave, a massive crowd gathered. There was no division or religion. Everyone wore white robes with head covers, completely lacking earthly tailoring, buttons, or seams.

Celestial shepherds appeared, and it was time for the washing of the feet. There were two shepherds working together; one would pray over the feet, and the other would wash them. But the manner in which the feet were washed depended entirely on the garment you wore. For those with the proper robe, the shepherd touched their feet before praying for them. My guide, dressed in a celestial robe, stepped forward, placed his leg in the shepherd’s hand, and was washed.

I stepped up next. And suddenly, the reality of my waking life crashed into the vision. I looked down and realized I was wearing white, but it wasn’t the celestial garment. I did not have the proper robe. Feeling entirely inadequate, exposed, and unprepared, I couldn’t bring myself to place my foot in the shepherd’s hand. Recognizing my state, the first shepherd simply pointed at my leg and prayed from a distance, without touching me.

We moved down to the next queue, where the line stretched endlessly. I looked around, and suddenly—my guide was gone. I was completely alone in a crowd of prepared people, fully realizing my own nakedness. And in that moment of heavy, isolating realization, I woke up.

Waking into Reality

Waking up from that dream did not bring the usual relief of escaping a nightmare. Instead, it brought a profound, lingering weight of conviction. The transition from that celestial valley back to the quiet of my bedroom was jarring.

My brain immediately tried to rationalize the faces I saw, trying to attach familiar identities to the people in the crowd, but they were strangers. I also tried to remember the melody I heard, but I didn’t have a word for it. The message, however, was intensely personal.

Examining my life as a baptized Celestial, I knew the laws and tenets. But my daily life proved I was out of uniform.

There is a profound difference between having the “white cloth” of good intentions and wearing the “celestial robe” of an active, daily walk with God. Good intentions make us feel comfortable, but they do not prepare us to stand on holy ground.

My four church visits this year were a symptom of a deeper issue: I was living on spiritual leftovers, expecting my past baptism to cover my current drift. The dream was a mirror showing me that while I was busy building a life on earth, I was neglecting the garment of my soul.

A Call to Repentance

This vision was not a reminder to become more religious. Religion is often just a hollow checklist of outward traditions, meant to make us look good to the people around us. This was a direct call for repentance—a radical turning of the heart back to God.

By our earthly nature, inherited from Adam, humans carry a capacity for selfishness and wickedness. We naturally optimize for the comforts of the flesh, choosing what is easy over what is right. But through Jesus Christ, we are redeemed. We are called to put to death that old, undisciplined nature so that a new creation can live.

“For the sin of this one man, Adam, caused death to rule over many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and his gift of righteousness, for all who receive it will live in triumph over sin and death through this one man, Jesus Christ.” — Romans 5:17 (NLT)

By submitting to the will of God, we don’t need to labor under a heavy yoke of endless laws and regulations. Christ has given us a new covenant, a single law: Love.

First, Love God and Love Jesus: If you truly love the Lord, you will naturally want to walk in His ways and keep His teachings. It means moving beyond passive attendance and building a daily life of prayer, obedience, and reverence.

Second, Love Yourself: You cannot pour out water from a broken, neglected jar. Loving yourself means taking holy care of your body, your mind, and your soul. It means treating your life as a sacred temple. You must protect what is inside you at all costs—guarding your mind with all diligence, nurturing your body, and keeping your soul connected to the vine.

Third, Love Your Neighbor: You cannot truly love your neighbor if you do not love yourself first. But when your heart is secure in Christ, and your soul is nurtured, loving others ceases to be a burden—it becomes an effortless overflow of God’s grace.

The Kingdom Within

The world as we know it is fleeting. It is constantly passing away for those who leave this earth. The only wise response to this truth is to stop drifting and start living with absolute, unyielding intention.

The Kingdom of God isn’t just a distant destination in the clouds that we find when we die. Jesus told us plainly that the Kingdom of God is already here—it takes root right now in the soil of a surrendered heart.

“You won’t be able to say, ‘Here it is!’ or ‘It’s over there!’ For the Kingdom of God is already among you.” — Luke 17:21 (NLT)

When you do the internal work to find that kingdom and align your daily walk with the Spirit, you receive one of the greatest gifts available in this life: true, unshakable peace of mind. And that peace is the foretaste of the greatest reward awaiting us in heaven.

I am returning to the path. I am adjusting my daily habits to ensure I am wearing the right garment—not just outward appearances for the world to see, but the inward clothing of a pure, intentional heart before the Lord.

If the Lord laid your spirit bare tonight and called you to stand before Him, what kind of garment would you be found wearing?

Thanks for reading Rebuild With Intention Journal! The author, Tofunmi Ayotunde, argues that modern society fosters a harmful dependency on quick rewards, leading to long-term stagnation and mental fatigue. By contrast, exercising self-discipline and patience allows individuals to build resilience, achieve financial stability, and find deeper purpose. Through various historical, biblical, and scientific examples, the text illustrates how resisting immediate impulses is essential for personal growth and legacy-building. Finally, it provides a strategic framework for mastering self-control, suggesting that aligning one's internal identity with long-term goals can overcome the destructive cycle of artificial dopamine.Read the full article: rebuildwithintention.com/instant-gratification-vs-delayed-gratification

Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/rebuild-with-intention--6940424/support.

The Weekend Anti-Drift Routine

The transition from a structured work week to an unstructured weekend is dangerous.
